Sara Ponsoll’s mission in launching Boheme Pittsburgh wasn’t only to provide a brick-and-mortar retail space for Pittsburgh’s burgeoning artisan and maker scene. Her desire to create an incubator that could help advise and mentor up-and-coming designers and artists also played a pivotal role. A master curator herself, Sara has quickly attracted some of the area’s most incredible talent while creating an eclectic and much needed shopping experience in our region.
Sara Ponsoll applied her years of experience working the craft and maker markets of NYC when she launched Boheme Pittsburgh earlier this summer. Operating Kitschtopia, her vintage jewelry business, taught her a great deal about what it takes to create a thriving venture as a curator in the world of artisan and one-of-a-kind items.
Sara saw that Pittsburgh was lacking a unique space that could serve as a launchpad for local makers, designers, and curators. She created Boheme Pittsburgh to cater to the increasing demand for unique and local merchandise while providing mentorship for the many talented artisans in our region.
